Fishing, Hiking, Tubing, Exploring, and More
OUTDOOR RECREATION is typically pursued for purposes of physical exercise, general wellbeing, and spiritual renewal. Regardless of your reason for being outside, Jones County has a wide range of activities to get you out into the fresh air. There are rivers to float, caves to explore, places to swim, cliffs to climb, fish to catch, geocaching, interpretive talks, outdoor concerts, and trails to hike, walk or bike. Bird watching is a year-round treat at any of the wildlife area, especially with majestic bald eagles a common site. Many communities have city parks with playgrounds and a place to picnic. Even when it’s cold outside, there is ice fishing, sledding, skiing or maybe just building a snowman. Need ideas? Contact Jones County Tourism and GET OUTSIDE!
